Launch of Nari Satya Foundation
In May of 2024, we launched Nari Satya Foundation, with a simple but powerful mission: to help women living in period poverty by educating them about their bodies and providing them access to feminine hygiene products
Today, we’re celebrating a full year of impact– And most importantly your belief in the potential of underserved women and girls.
Here’s what we’ve accomplished together, in 1 year, in Round Rock (Texas) and with our 2nd annual trip to India:
Led 15 empowering menstrual health workshops
for middle school girls in Round Rock, at schools, slums and orphanages in Haryana and Punjab (India).
Installed FREE feminine hygiene dispenser
at Ridgeview Middle School, Round Rock ISD.
We have partnered with multiple nonprofits and community organizations
(like Hope Alliance, Round Rock FIT, Round Rock Area Serving Center, Ridgeview Middle School, MDD Bal Bhavan in Karnal, Manukhta Di Seva in Ludhiana, Vatsalya in Kurukshetra, etc!) to support underserved women and teens.
Distributed hundreds of free period kits
and hygiene products to shelters, schools, and community centers. These emergency period kits include pads, affirmation cards, hand sanitizer, etc! These period kits help with the following:
1. Prevents Stress and Embarrassment
Periods can be unpredictable. Having a kit on hand reduces the anxiety and embarrassment that can come from being caught off guard, especially in school, at work, or while traveling.
2. Supports Hygiene and Health
Access to clean, appropriate period products and wipes in a kit helps maintain hygiene, reducing the risk of infections or discomfort during menstruation.
3. Builds Confidence and Independence
For younger individuals, especially tweens and teens, having a period kit empowers them to take care of their bodies on their own. It fosters a sense of readiness and self-care.
4. Promotes Equity
In low-income communities or schools, providing emergency kits can help bridge access gaps and ensure that lack of period products doesn’t interfere with education or daily activities.
Created safe spaces
for over a thousand women to talk openly about periods and how the menstrual cycle impacts our daily life.
Hosted our first annual fundraiser
We brought together our community members, friends and families that helped us meet our fundraising goal. Delicious food from Nawabi Hyderabad House, dance performances from ATX Bhangra and RaviShree School of Dance and Music made this event that much more memorable.
